Fast food is food that can be prepared very quickly and any meal with very little preparation time can be termed as fast food. In coastal areas, fast food usually includes local shellfish or seafood, such as oysters or eels. The development of trawler fishing in the mid-nineteenth century led to the development of a British favorite, fast food, fish, and chips.
